Overview

HIV-related OIs have been defined as infections that are more frequent or more severe because of HIV- mediated immunosuppression. Achieving and maintaining durable viral suppression in all people with HIV, and thus preventing or substantially reducing the incidence of HIV related OIs, remains challenging for three main reasons

• Not all HIV infections are diagnosed, and once diagnosed many persons have already experienced substantial immunosuppression.
• Not all persons with diagnosed HIV receive timely continuous HIV care and ART.
• Not all persons treated for HIV achieve durable viral suppression

Thus, clinicians continue to need to be knowledgeable about the prevention and management of HIV-related OIs.

The Masterclass in HIV are bitesize virtual events that include: 

• medical updates on topics related to HIV 
• interactive case-based discussions 
• sessions on Advanced Clinical Care for people living with HIV

The program is highly recommended for those who intend to sit the Diploma in HIV Medicine exams, Medical Doctors and NIMART trained Nurse.

CPD certificates are issued within 24 hours of attending the class.

The classes covers both HIV, STI and associated opportunistic infections and is intended to provide in depth knowledge of HIV clinical management based on local and international evidence based guidelines.   It is a modular course. You can apply to attend some or all of the following modules.

HIV Masterclasses are hosted virtually via zoom webinar every Thursday 18:00 till 19:30.
